# Creating your own course

> Build a course here, or upload one you already have.

Within the learning environment you can add your own courses, which lets you cover material
specific to your organisation. There are two ways to do it.

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Course builder" href="#course-builder">
    Build the course here, chapter by chapter.
  </Card>

  <Card title="SCORM upload" href="#scorm-upload">
    Upload a course you already have as a SCORM package.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

## Course builder

At the top of the **Learning** page, select **Create course** to open the course builder.

### Setting up

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose a default language">
    Building a course starts here. Additional languages can be added later.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add title, description and thumbnail">
    The thumbnail is what appears on the course overview.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the certification percentage">
    The score end users need to reach to be certified.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  All of these can be adjusted later, including adding new languages.
</Note>

### Adding content

Content goes into chapters. Select **Add chapter** at the bottom and complete it with a
title, description and content.

Chapters can currently contain PDFs, videos, quizzes and URLs. These appear in the order you
choose.

## SCORM upload

If you already have course content, from another platform or an authoring tool, upload it as a
SCORM package instead of rebuilding it here.

Upload the package as a **ZIP file**.

| Supported | |
| - | - |
| SCORM 1.2 | Supported |
| SCORM 2004 | Supported |

<Note>
  This brings your content into OutKept. If you want it the other way around, with OutKept courses
  running inside your own LMS, that uses LTI rather than SCORM. Contact
  [support@outkept.com](mailto:support@outkept.com).
</Note>

## Before you roll it out

<Tip>
  Run a test and invite yourself, so you experience the course the way your employees will.
  This applies to both routes, and a SCORM package is worth checking end to end since its
  scoring comes from the package rather than from our builder.
</Tip>

Then invite people as usual. See [Inviting people to a course](/course-invites).
