# Overview

> The two ways people learn on the platform.

Teaching happens in two places on the platform, and they work differently. Courses are
structured learning that people sit down for. Micro-learnings are the short lessons that arrive
inside a simulation, at the moment somebody gets caught.

## Which does what

| | Courses | Micro-learnings |
| - | - | - |
| When | Whenever you invite people | The moment someone interacts with a simulation |
| Length | A full course with chapters | A short tip, or a single feedback email |
| Effort from the user | They log in and work through it | Nothing, it comes to them |
| Result | A score, and a certificate if they pass | Recognition of what they just missed |

The two are complementary. Micro-learnings catch the teachable moment; courses build the
knowledge underneath it.
