# How it works

> How onboarding runs, from empty environment to running campaign.

Getting a campaign started on OutKept takes a few different steps. The process is straightforward and should take about an hour, though it can take longer depending on your technical setup.

It comes down to three things: importing user data, mapping it correctly, and configuring the campaign settings.

## Before you begin

Two things to sort out before you open the wizard.

    Add our domain names to the trusted sources in your email filters and security systems, so mail from our platform is not blocked or marked as spam.

## Starting the wizard

Log into the platform as an administrator. A pop-up appears asking you to start the onboarding process. Click **Start onboarding**.

  You do not have to finish in one sitting. Mapping progress is saved, so you can stop and come back later.
